WHAT GOD STARTED, HE WILL FINISH

God Is Not Finished With You Yet

There are times in life when you look at where you are and wonder:

“God, what happened to the plans You had for me?”

Perhaps you started something with great faith, but somewhere along the way, things became difficult.

Maybe a dream didn't happen when you expected.

Maybe a prayer hasn't been answered.

Maybe an opportunity disappeared.

Maybe you began a journey with excitement, only to find yourself discouraged by the process.

And sometimes, when things don't unfold the way we imagined, we begin to wonder whether God has forgotten us.

But today, I want to remind you of something powerful:

God is not finished with you yet.

What He started in your life, He is still able to complete.

GOD FINISHES WHAT HE STARTS

The Apostle Paul wrote:

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6 (KJV)

What a powerful promise.

Paul didn't say God might finish the work.

He said he was confident that God would perform it.

Why? Because God is faithful.

When God begins something, He doesn't abandon it simply because the process becomes difficult.

God is not intimidated by the middle of your story.

DON'T JUDGE THE STORY BY THE MIDDLE

Have you ever watched a film and become concerned because everything seemed to be going wrong?

The main character loses something.

A problem appears.

The situation becomes worse.

You might think:

“How is this ever going to work out?”

But then the ending comes, and suddenly everything makes sense.

Life can sometimes feel like that.

We are living in the middle of the story.

We don't know what the next chapter contains.

So we look at today's circumstances and assume we know how the story will end.

But God sees the entire story.

Don't judge God's faithfulness by a chapter He hasn't finished writing.

JOSEPH'S STORY WASN'T FINISHED IN THE PIT

Joseph is one of the greatest examples of this.

God gave Joseph dreams about his future.

But instead of immediately stepping into the fulfilment of those dreams, Joseph found himself in a pit.

Then slavery.

Then false accusations.

Then prison.

Imagine what Joseph might have thought during those years.

“Lord, You gave me a dream. Why am I here?”

But the pit wasn't the end.

The prison wasn't the end.

God was still working.

Eventually Joseph became second in command in Egypt and was positioned to save countless lives during a famine.

What looked like a series of setbacks was actually part of God's preparation.

The middle of Joseph's story did not look anything like the ending.

And yours may not either.

A DELAY DOES NOT MEAN GOD HAS ABANDONED YOU

Sometimes we become discouraged because God's timing doesn't match ours.

We thought it would happen by now.

We thought the door would have opened already.

We thought the situation would have changed.

We thought the prayer would have been answered.

But God sees beyond our timetable.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says: “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time, also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”

His time.

Not our time.

Not society's time.

Not somebody else's time.

God's time.

GOD IS WORKING EVEN WHEN YOU CANNOT SEE IT

One of the hardest things about faith is trusting God when there is no visible evidence.

You pray.

You wait.

You continue.

And nothing seems to change.

But remember:

Invisible does not mean inactive.

A seed buried underground looks like nothing is happening.

But beneath the surface, roots are developing.

Eventually, what was hidden begins to appear.

Your life can be like that.

God may be developing things in you that you cannot yet see.

He may be preparing opportunities.

Developing your character.

Strengthening your faith.

Connecting you with the right people.

Closing doors that would have harmed you.

Preparing you for responsibilities you are not yet ready to carry.

God can be working behind the scenes, even when when you cannot see what He is doing.

DON'T GIVE UP BECAUSE THE PROCESS IS HARD

Sometimes we assume that if God is in something, it should be easy.

But Scripture doesn't teach that.

Many people God used greatly experienced difficult processes.

David was anointed king but spent years in the wilderness.

Moses was called to lead Israel but spent years in preparation.

Joseph had a dream but experienced the pit and prison.

Paul was called by God but experienced persecution and hardship.

The presence of difficulty doesn't automatically mean you are outside God's will.

Sometimes difficulty is part of the development.

GOD IS DEVELOPING YOU WHILE HE IS PREPARING YOU

Perhaps you've been asking:

“When will God change my circumstances?”

But maybe another question is:

“What is God developing in me while I wait?”

Patience.

Wisdom.

Discernment.

Compassion.

Courage.

Faith.

Character.

Sometimes God is more interested in preparing you for the promise than simply delivering the promise quickly.

Because receiving something before you are ready to handle it can become a burden instead of a blessing.

Preparation matters.

DON'T COMPARE YOUR TIMELINE

One of the quickest ways to become discouraged is to compare your journey with someone else's.

Someone else receives their breakthrough.

Someone else gets married.

Someone else starts their business.

Someone else gets the opportunity.

Someone else's ministry grows.

And suddenly you begin asking:

“God, what about me?”

But remember:

Your assignment is not their assignment.

God's timing for your life is personal.

You don't need to arrive at someone else's destination.

You need to fulfil your God-given purpose.

GOD IS STILL WRITING YOUR STORY

There may be chapters of your life you would never have chosen.

Painful chapters.

Disappointing chapters.

Chapters filled with questions.

But God can take even those chapters and weave them into something meaningful.

Romans 8:28 reminds us:

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Notice it doesn't say that everything is good.

It says God can work all things together for good.

Even the difficult things.

Even the unexpected things.

Even the painful things.

God can redeem what you thought was wasted.

WHAT GOD STARTED IN YOU MAY LOOK DIFFERENT NOW

Sometimes we think God's work in us should look exactly as we imagined it when we first began.

But God may develop your purpose in ways you never expected.

Your experience may change.

Your audience may change.

Your assignment may change.

Your priorities may change.

Your methods may change.

But God's purpose can remain.

Don't become so attached to how you thought it would happen that you miss what God is actually doing.

Stay flexible.

Stay prayerful.

Stay teachable.

Stay close to God.

WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'VE FAILED

Perhaps you have made mistakes.

Perhaps you took a wrong turn.

Perhaps you missed an opportunity.

Perhaps you look back and wish you had done things differently.

Remember this:

A mistake does not automatically disqualify you from God's purpose.

Peter denied Jesus three times.

Yet Jesus restored him and continued to use him.

David made serious mistakes.

Yet God continued to work through his life.

God's grace is greater than your failure.

If you have repented and returned to God, don't spend the rest of your life punishing yourself for what God is willing to forgive.

Get back up.

Learn.

Grow.

Continue.

GOD CAN REDEEM LOST TIME

Perhaps you feel like you've wasted years.

Maybe you think:

“If only I had started earlier.”

“If only I had made better decisions.”

“If only I had known then what I know now.”

Don't allow regret to paralyse you.

God is not limited by your past.

Joel 2:25 says: “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.”

God is able to redeem.

He can take what remains and still produce something beautiful.

Your future is not cancelled because your past wasn't perfect.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO FINISH IT ALONE

This is perhaps the most beautiful part.

The God who started the work is the God who will help you continue.

You don't have to rely entirely on your own strength.

Zechariah 4:6 says: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

There will be things you cannot accomplish through your own ability.

There will be seasons when you feel exhausted.

There will be moments when you need supernatural strength.

And God will meet you there.

His grace is sufficient.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WHILE GOD IS FINISHING THE WORK?

1. Keep trusting

Don't allow temporary circumstances to change your view of God's character.

2. Keep praying

Your prayers matter, even when you don't immediately see the answer.

3. Keep obeying

Do what God has already instructed you to do.

4. Keep preparing

If you're believing for a new season, prepare yourself for it.

5. Keep growing

Allow every season to develop your character and deepen your faith.

6. Keep going

You may be closer than you think.

Don't quit simply because the process is taking longer than expected.

IF YOU ARE WONDERING WHETHER GOD IS STILL WORKING

Maybe you need this reminder today:

Yes.

He is still working.

Even when you don't see it.

Even when you don't understand it.

Even when the door hasn't opened.

Even when the prayer hasn't been answered.

Even when the journey has taken longer than expected.

God is still God.

And He is still able to finish what He started.

YOUR STORY IS NOT OVER

Dear woman of virtue, don't allow the unfinished parts of your life to make you believe that God has forgotten you.

There are things God may still be developing.

There are prayers He may still be answering.

There are doors He may still be preparing.

There are chapters you haven't reached yet.

So don't close the book because you're uncomfortable with the current chapter.

Keep trusting the Author.

Because He knows how to bring the story to completion.

A PRAYER FOR THE WOMAN WHO FEELS UNFINISHED

Oh My Heavenly Father,

Thank You because You are faithful.

Thank You that when You begin a good work, You don't abandon it.

Lord, for every woman who feels discouraged about where she is in life, remind her that her story is not finished.

Where she feels delayed, give her patience.

Where she feels forgotten, remind her of Your presence.

Where she feels like a failure, cover her with Your grace.

Where she has lost hope, restore her faith.

Help her not to compare her journey with someone else's.

Teach her to trust Your timing and Your process.

Give her strength to continue when the journey becomes difficult.

Help her to believe that You can redeem what has been lost and bring beauty from what has been broken.

And Father, complete the work You have begun in her.

Let her become everything You have called her to be.

In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

A FINAL WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Woman of virtue, God is not finished with you yet.

Don't allow an unfinished chapter to make you question the Author.

Don't allow a delay to make you question His faithfulness.

Don't allow a difficult season to make you believe that the promise has been cancelled.

The God who began the work is still working.

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”Philippians 1:6 (KJV).

What God started, He will finish.

You are still becoming,

You are still being prepared,

And God is not finished with you yet! 🌷💙
