As a humanitarian and UN Peace Ambassador, I am deeply committed to the welfare of impoverished children. I am driven by empathy and responsibility to help make a positive impact in their lives. I belief that every child was born with potential regardless of their background or circumstances. With compassion and determination, I strive to to be a Catalyst for change, and a Beacon of hope in the lives of these vulnerable children, empowering them to thrive and realize their dreams for a brighter future.

Poverty Rates: Approximately 21.4% of Uganda's population lives below the national poverty line. Children are vulnerable to the impacts of poverty, including limited access to education, healthcare, and nutritious food.

Malnutrition: Malnutrition remains a significant challenge in Uganda, with approximately 29% of children under the age of five suffering from stunting (low height for age) and 4% experiencing wasting (low weight for height). Malnutrition negatively affects children's physical and cognitive development, leading to long-term health implications.

Access to Education: While primary education is officially free and compulsory in Uganda, access to quality education remains limited, especially in rural and marginalized communities. According to UNICEF, about 1.2 million primary-aged children are out of school, with girls disproportionately affected by barriers such as early marriage and household responsibilities.

Healthcare: Uganda faces numerous healthcare challenges, including limited access to essential healthcare services, high maternal and child mortality rates, and prevalence of preventable diseases such as malaria and HIV/AIDS. Many children lack access to basic healthcare facilities and immunizations, contributing to high rates of child mortality.

These statistics shows the disparities affecting children in Uganda. By addressing these challenges, we can help ensure a brighter future for Uganda's children and promote sustainable development in the country.
