Your Waiting Is Not Wasted
There are moments in life when you simply become tired.
Tired of waiting.
Tired of praying.
Tired of trying.
Tired of believing for something that seems to be taking forever.
You may have reached a point where you quietly ask yourself:
“Lord, how much longer?”
Perhaps you have been doing your best to follow God, yet things haven't worked out the way you expected. Maybe you have prayed about the same situation for months or even years, and nothing seems to be changing.
Sometimes, the greatest battle isn't what we are going through—it's the temptation to give up while we are waiting for God to move.
But today, I want to remind you:
Don't give up. Keep going.
Your obedience is not wasted.
Your prayers are not wasted.
Your tears are not wasted.
Your waiting is not wasted.
God sees you, and He knows exactly where you are.
WHEN YOU ARE WEARY, GOD UNDERSTANDS
The Bible says:
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
I love the words “if we faint not.”
Why would Paul tell us not to become weary if weariness wasn't something we could experience?
God knows that sometimes we will become tired.
He knows there will be days when our faith feels stronger than others.
He knows there will be seasons when we wonder whether our efforts are making any difference.
But He tells us:
Don't stop.
Don't abandon what God told you to do simply because you haven't seen the results yet.
There is a “due season.”
And if God says there is a due season, then there is something worth waiting for.
DON'T CONFUSE DELAY WITH DENIAL
One of the hardest things about waiting on God is not knowing when He will answer.
We live in a world where we can get almost everything immediately.
But God doesn't operate according to our timetable.
Sometimes God says “wait.”
Sometimes He says “not yet.”
Sometimes He says “prepare.”
And sometimes He says “trust Me.”
A delay does not necessarily mean a denial.
Think about Abraham.
God promised him a son, but the fulfilment didn't happen immediately.
Think about Joseph.
He received a dream from God, but his journey included betrayal, slavery and prison before the dream began to unfold.
Think about David.
He was anointed to become king, but there was a significant period of waiting before he sat on the throne.
The promise came before the fulfilment.
And sometimes there is a process between what God has spoken and what you eventually see.
YOUR WAITING SEASON MAY BE PREPARING YOU
We often want God to change our circumstances, but sometimes God is using the circumstances to change us.
Joseph needed the pit before the palace.
David needed the wilderness before the throne.
Moses spent years in the wilderness before leading Israel.
The waiting season wasn't wasted.
It was preparation.
God may be developing your character, strengthening your faith, teaching you patience, giving you wisdom or preparing you for something you are not yet ready to carry.
So don't despise the season you are in simply because it doesn't look like the season you prayed for.
God can use the waiting room to prepare you for the room you have been praying to enter.
WHEN YOU CAN'T SEE ANYTHING HAPPENING
Have you ever planted something?
You put the seed into the ground, covered it with soil and then looked at the ground the next morning.
Nothing.
You check again.
Still nothing.
But underneath the surface, something is happening.
Roots are developing.
The seed is beginning to change.
You simply cannot see it yet.
Faith sometimes works the same way.
You may look at your life and think:
“Nothing is happening.”
But God may be working beneath the surface.
You cannot see the roots.
You cannot see the preparation.
You cannot see the connections He is making.
You cannot see the doors He is arranging.
But that doesn't mean God is doing nothing.
Never mistake silence for absence.
God can be working even when you cannot see the evidence.
KEEP GOING EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE IT
There will be days when you don't feel motivated.
There will be days when your faith feels tired.
There will be days when you don't feel like praying.
There will be days when you wonder whether continuing is worth it.
Those are the days when you need to remember what God has already said.
Your feelings can change.
Your circumstances can change.
People can change.
But God's Word remains true.
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
Matthew 24:35 (KJV)
Don't build your faith solely on how you feel.
Build it on Who God is.
REMEMBER HOW FAR GOD HAS ALREADY BROUGHT YOU
When you feel like giving up, look backwards for a moment.
Remember the prayers God has already answered.
Remember the doors He opened.
Remember the times He protected you.
Remember the situations you thought you would never survive.
Remember the moments when you had no idea what to do, yet somehow God made a way.
You have evidence of His faithfulness.
The same God who carried you through yesterday is able to carry you through today.
And if He has brought you this far, don't assume He has abandoned you now.
YOUR STORY IS NOT OVER
Sometimes we are tempted to make permanent conclusions based on temporary circumstances.
You might look at where you are today and think:
“This is how my life will always be.”
But you don't know what God is preparing for tomorrow.
One chapter cannot tell the whole story.
Joseph's pit wasn't his ending.
David's wilderness wasn't his ending.
Ruth's season of loss wasn't her ending.
Peter's failure wasn't his ending.
And your current situation is not necessarily your ending either.
There is still more to your story.
GOD'S TIMING IS WORTH TRUSTING
Waiting requires trust.
And trust means saying:
“God, I don't understand the timing, but I trust the One who holds the timing.”
The Bible says:
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)
God sees what you cannot see.
He knows what you don't know.
He sees the beginning and the end at the same time.
So when you don't understand the timing, trust His wisdom.
When you don't understand the process, trust His purpose.
When you don't understand the silence, trust His presence.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE GIVING UP?
1. Pray instead of quitting
Tell God exactly how you feel.
You don't have to pretend to be strong.
2. Go back to His promises
Find the Scriptures that speak to your situation and hold onto them.
3. Take one more step
You don't have to figure out the entire journey today.
Just take the next step.
4. Don't isolate yourself
Surround yourself with people who will encourage your faith rather than feed your discouragement.
5. Remember your “why”
If God gave you an assignment, don't abandon it simply because the journey became difficult.
6. Keep doing what is right
Galatians 6:9 doesn't say we will reap immediately.
It says “in due season.”
Keep sowing.
Keep believing.
Keep serving.
Keep obeying.
SOMEONE READING THIS NEEDS TO HEAR: “KEEP GOING”
Maybe this message is reaching you at exactly the right moment.
Maybe you've been thinking about giving up on the dream.
Giving up on the ministry.
Giving up on the relationship.
Giving up on the business.
Giving up on the prayer you've been praying.
Giving up on yourself.
But before you make a decision out of exhaustion, pause.
Pray.
Wait.
Seek God.
And ask Him for strength to continue.
You don't have to know how everything will work out.
You simply need to trust the One who does.
YOUR “DUE SEASON” IS IN GOD'S HANDS
I cannot promise you exactly when your breakthrough will come.
But I can remind you of what God's Word says:
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
There is a harvest connected to faithful sowing.
There is a reward connected to perseverance.
There is purpose in continuing.
So don't allow today's disappointment to steal tomorrow's possibility.
Keep going.
A PRAYER FOR THE WEARY HEART
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for every woman reading this who is tired, discouraged or wondering whether she should continue.
Lord, You know her heart.
You know the prayers she has prayed.
You know the tears she has cried.
You know the battles she has fought that nobody else knows about.
Today, strengthen her.
When she feels like giving up, remind her that You are still with her.
When she cannot see what You are doing, help her trust You.
When the waiting becomes difficult, give her patience.
When she becomes weary, renew her strength.
Help her not to walk away from something You have called her to simply because the journey has become difficult.
Give her grace for today and hope for tomorrow.
Help her to remember that her labour is not in vain and that her story is not over.
And Father, when her due season comes, may she look back and realise that You were faithful through every step.
In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
A FINAL WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT
Dear woman of virtue, if you are in a difficult season right now, don't give up simply because you cannot yet see the harvest.
The seed may be underground.
The answer may be developing.
The door may be preparing to open.
The lesson may be preparing you.
The season may be changing.
And while you wait, God is still God.
So keep praying.
Keep believing.
Keep trusting.
Keep walking.
Keep sowing.
Keep going.
Because “in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Your waiting is not wasted.
Your tears are not wasted.
Your obedience is not wasted.
And your story is not over.
Keep going. God is not finished with you yet.
